How To Care For A Live Plant For Bearded Dragon Terrarium

Posted on September 1, 2021

It is now possible to provide your bearded dragons with live plants for the terrarium. Previously, this was not an option as these were grown solely for decoration purposes only. Today, there are some very good and reputable companies that have taken this to a new level, providing you with not only with live plants for your bearded dragon terrarium, but also with exceptional quality ornamental plants for the tank.

To be honest, aquatic plants can add beauty to any terrarium. They will look good with your fish, help to break up the drab gray rock texture and overall, make your terrarium more pleasing to the eye. The question is how do you choose the right ones for your bearded dragon? There are three major factors to consider when selecting the plants for your aquatic terrarium.

First of all, you need to consider how much light the plants need. You must ensure that they get adequate amounts of sunlight. The ideal plants would be those that don’t grow too fast. In fact, it is even better if they don’t grow at all! There are many aquatic plant varieties that do well in the dark and that provide their owners with hours of darkness during the day.

If you are planning on breeding your bearded dragons, then you should definitely opt for a location where the temperature remains relatively constant throughout the year. In fact, the best locations would be ones with a greater range of seasonal temperatures. These areas would also provide your pets with a better environment for basking. It is important to keep in mind that living plants for the terrarium come in different sizes and this is something you need to take into account. Make sure that you select plants that are appropriate for the size of your terrarium.

The soil that you use in your terrarium is also important and this should be given some thought. Make sure that you have chosen a suitable soil for your bearded dragon terrarium based on the size and capacity of the container you are using. You can use any type of soil and you can even mix some soil with compost to enhance the nutrient value of the plants for your bearded dragon terrarium. You should ensure that the terrarium is well-drained and this can be done by making sure that the terrarium is well-poured with water.

Water is very important for your bearded dragon terrarium and the plants that you choose should also provide the right amount of water. The best plants for this situation are those that grow well without being too waterlogged or wilted. Look for these kinds of plants in your local pet store. You may even try growing them yourself in a smaller scale if you are very adventurous.

You should provide your bearded dragon terrarium with lighting conditions and you should be sure that you know how to provide these. Plants in a terrarium should not be left in total darkness because they may get damaged by the extreme cold of winter. In the winter, plant leaves tend to go yellow and this may also damage the plants. During summer, however, plant foliage will grow back green and vibrant, and this will help provide the much needed calcium for the plants. You can purchase artificial lighting equipment for your terrarium if you cannot do this task manually.

You can place terrarium plants in a container using a lid or you can use rocks and gravel as a base. Some animals terrariums include fish. Be sure to provide proper air circulation and ventilation for the bearded dragon terrarium. You should put at least a half liter of water for every five square meters of terrarium. This should be enough water for the animal to survive in. Be sure to replace the water daily.
