Advantages of DIY Self Watering Planter 5 Gallon Bucket

Posted on September 24, 2021

A few of us have a DIY self watering planter in our home, and we love it. I especially like the fact that we can take the plastic container gardening stuff off for the winter, pop open the door and then return to the pleasures of container gardening the following spring. Container gardening is such a pleasure, because there are so many different flowers and plants that we can grow, and each of them adds an exotic flourish to our home decor that simply can’t be duplicated outside. The good thing is that this particular type of gardening needs very little maintenance in order to thrive, and there is plenty of space for you to spread out whatever plants or flowers you choose.

One of the reasons I love container gardening so much is because the plants or flowers don’t need to go through any growing pains in order to survive. In fact, container gardening is even better than regular garden because the plants do not need to be planted in soil. All they need is water! This is especially important with a self-watering planter. This is why many people who are a bit unsure about which kind of container to get, end up going with a 5 gallon bucket.

However, not everyone has one of these, and that is why many today are opting for a much larger container gardening system that is called a water tray. With a water tray, the plant grows directly in the tray, and the water collects in the container. This is a much bigger container and obviously will require more water to keep the plant growing properly, but it’s a good idea because some species of plants will need to have extra water to grow properly.

With the tray option, you won’t have to remove the plant from its original container when you decide you’re ready to remove it from the soil. It goes into the container and stays there until you decide to remove it. A key feature with this type of system is that the tray can be made out of any material, whether plastic, metal, or glass. And because the container can be built up over time, you can build up a huge water holding tray over time, providing plenty of surface area for your plants to grow on.

A DIY self watering system for container gardening is also a great way to save money and time. This is because it means no more watering to a tee-shirt that needs a rinse. It also means no wasted water from running out of your hose. You just fill the container with water, which is then turned on and then left to do its thing. It’s much less wasteful than a household tap. Also, if you need to go out for the day, you won’t have to worry about running out of water, and it won’t affect the flavor of your fruits and vegetables.

The DIY self watering planter bucket comes with everything you need to set it up. All you have to do is screw in the base and fill the container with water, using the water level line to keep everything even. Make sure the bucket is large enough to hold the amount of water you need to cover your plants.

One of the advantages of having a container garden is that you can use an inexpensive source of water. When you’re at home during the summer months, you can’t always rely on the water coming from a hose. It may not be as clean as you want, or the spray may not be as consistent. Being able to water your plants without needing to resort to a hose makes it more enjoyable for you.

Another advantage of the DIY self watering planter bucket is the convenience of it all. You simply fill the container with water and push a button to start. It’s easy to use and convenient for when you have visitors over or just want to relax and sit down by the water. If you’ve been thinking of starting a container garden but aren’t quite ready to go all the way, a self-watering planter will give you the tools you need without much trouble.
